The New World Map the UN Wants You to Use
Visualizing the true size of Africa, and its massive compare to what we are seeing from the regular and distorted map.
“A comprehensive analysis of global engagement, critical minerals race, and Africa’s growth trajectory in the 21st century -- by J K Dadoo | IAS Retd | Independent Consultant”
As Africa is one topic of our final Capstone project in my EMBA it was really great to find this presentation today. You can read a good overview on pages 1, 7 and 14, just have a look.
The two pictures today are showing how large Africa really is, very interesting insights and surprising details.
“On Sept. 4, 2026, the UN General Assembly adopted the “Correct the Map” resolution by a 164-1 vote, endorsing the Equal Earth projection.
Unlike Mercator, Equal Earth preserves the true relative size of landmasses, dramatically changing how places such as Greenland, Canada, and Africa appear beside one another.”
“China, frankly, can be an opportunity for Africa based on the huge infrastructure deficit on the continent, but what needs to happen is that governments and citizens have to build internal ownership of the need of good governance, transparency, accountability, for respect for the environment.” -- Obiageli Ezekwesili, taken from Africa Quotes

The Complete Story of Africa
A busy week so far. Several things happening at the same time and all topics are high priority, not a surprise. Wednesday I was lazy and had no content to write about, Thursday evening is table tennis training, and yesterday I did meet a friend for dinner. Always good to catch up after several months.
We did discuss a lot about leadership styles, required soft and hard skills, and what really can be changed or has to be accepted, on individual, team and department level. Not to be talking about the company level.
